If you grew up on a small street in a small town you likely learned young to appreciate the small enticing stores on Main Street, USA. You know the ones I'm talking about.
It could be Kemper Drug... the place to stop in for a candy or Gramma's medicine.
It could be The Old Main Eatery, Sunshine Depot, Pompeii Neapolitan Pizzaria or Daddy-O's Cafe... all small town eateries supporting downtown visitors.
Perhaps you prefer Diamond City Bread and it's unique staircase into ancient Elk River (underground). The many flavors of daily made bread go a long way toward special as well!
The old antique store houses and hosts many dealers and small town business owners trying to support their passion for the past and how it fits in today's world.
Or, a stop by Sweet Pea's for a candy or flavored icecream cone?
All are small businesses.... and today (Small Business Saturday) is the day that we are encouraged to support them. Step back in time and remember the little people. The folks that work so hard to run a business... make a living... support a family. If you get the chance to step back in time and head down to Main Street it's be a great way to celebrate today.
If nothing else taking a stroll down Main Street, USA should provide some ambiance to the season with flags, lights, and decor celebrating the upcoming holiday season!
