Should I decorate? One of the most asked questions when I meet with a potential home seller during holiday season.
I'm not one to tell someone they should not decorate and get festive for the Holiday Season, however the key to staging the home must include being uncluttered. While I don't do holiday staging, I will give examples of keeping the decorating to a minimum during selling.
Sellers must remember, everyone has a different taste for their own decor, so neutral is best.
We certainly do not want over decorating to turn off potential buyers!
Making sure the decorating doesn't take away room space, counter space and wall space. I have seen some homes decorated with a minimum amount, but looks very nice.
In the case of holiday decorating my advice to a seller is " less is more "

I think they should decorate and like you say it needs to be not adding clutter. It needs to make the house show better.

Steve, my sentiments exactly...less is definitely more and less to put away as well. Happy Holidays!

I think your tip less is more is true for any season and for any seller you want the buyer to be able to picture themselves in your home.
