BLACK SHOPPING HELP ME UNDERSTAND CAMPING OUT ALL NIGHT TO PURCHASE

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with people first...then business Ran Right Realty 636943 licensed to thrill

My friends, what is it that you need so bad that you would camp out all night long to go get it? In the world of consumerism, what drives someone to do that? What do you need and do not have? You wouldn't do for toothpaste, socks, hair products, smaller priced items and on the expensive stuff, do you or someone you know have to have it?

STAR WARS & LORD OF THE RINGS

Please, help me understand. I have seen people camp out for Star Wars and Lord of the Rings movies. Okay, I understood that because it is memorable and you are with friends and you can tell that story over and over how you were the first. It is silly, acceptable fun and the American way

PERHAPS LOGIC DOESN'T WORK HERE

Standing in line during a recession to purchase things for your self or others with the single thought of beating someone else to a product no matter what is a cruel joke to play on someone. Some people have their worst side brought out as in the case of the women who sprayed pepper spray to get the crowd to disperse so she can improve her position in line...Ingenious tactical maneuver, but really now...

WHEN THE EUPHORIA DIES DOWN....IT BRINGS YOU DOWN WITH IT

In a few short weeks, people will go into reality and realize what they have done. Some of spent money they shouldn't have and or charged it which will burden them for the rest of the year and for what I might ask?

RETAILERS PLAY DUMB

The retailers love this stuff. it is almost perverted in a way. Over the years, people have gotten hurt and retailers rich from this tactic. Why not reduce process so that everyone gets what they want here without having to step over bodies to do so..

I AM NOT AGAINST HALLOWEEN...BUT CONSIDER

It reminds me of Halloween. We buy tens of millions of dollars of candy and give it away. Every one who sells it for a living all year long is out of luck before, during and after-wards until Halloween candy is all absorbed. Why are we paying to give it away? Let the candy makers give it away we keep our money instead...Of course that would cause riots and long lines

Of course, they love it. It's the time of the year when many are just turning a profit. Didn't buy a thing yesterday (except a cup of coffee).

For some it's about the game. Other's are just budget challenged and want to give nice gifts that are affordable.  As for myself, I'm with Melissa.  I heard of the evening adventures from my kids.

Richie,

No Black Friday shopping for me yesterday. Home inspection in the AM and showing buyers in the PM.

I've never seen so many reports of violence from people...just shopping.

Fernando has learned to navigate in and out of the arena correctly and sets the example...

R to R....what comes over people in regards to material goods and the going about to get them remains a human nature curiosity as well as an embarrassment...

You are so right, Richie. It is an embarrassment. People are proud of their willingness to camp out for days just to beat someone else to the items. It's crazy and a good example of the poor image we portray to the rest of the world. Of course I'm all for a good deal, but this is the extreme.

Richie ~ I've never done any Black Friday shopping, and never will.  It's crazy to stand in line for hours playing into the retailers' game just to save $10 or $20!!  I love finding things at good prices but the craziness needs to stop -- what will it take for people to learn?

GOOD MORNING RICHIE!  Well - I don't get it either - but there are some people that really feel they win if they spend $500 to save $100.  I do on the other hand love Cyber Monday - just my computer and a cup of coffee to shop!
