Join 8 regional alpaca farms for this holiday family event on December 3rd and 4th from 10am to 4pm at Estabrook's in Yarmouth. * Expanded Event, 2 days with more great vendors. * Children's Craft Area, fun for the whole family. * Friendly Alpacas, ready to meet, walk and pet. * Exquisite Products, clothing, blankets, yarn and more! Join local and regional Alpaca fiber producers in celebrating at the Annual “Christmas with Alpacas”….Luxurious natural fiber products produced in the U.S. will be for sale for holiday gifts. Friendly alpacas will be meeting and greeting the kids and hoping to go for a walk through the festively decorated Estabrook nursery. The event, hosted by Abbott Farm of Cumberland and SuriPaco of North Yarmouth in collaboration with Estabrook’s, will be held inside one of the Estabrook’s green houses on December 3rd and 4th from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. A combination of farms and natural fiber crafters will offer everything for your “Keep’em warm” holiday gift list ranging from skeins of Maine natural and dyed Alpaca knitting yarn to socks hats and felted scarves, sweaters. At the educational tables see images of the fiber processing steps: shearing, grading, washing carding, spinning weaving/ felting. Learn how the fiber is used in production: How to hand spin fiber, basic knitting & felting. The 4-H, Maine Farm Bureau and Future Farmers of America will have information available. At the Children’s area say hello to our family friendly alpacas, make a Christmas ornament, be creative with fiber; coloring ……. and other crafts Tom Estabrook, owner of Estabrook’s, describes this community event as, "being all about supporting Maine Farms and showing families a unique and wonderful animal. We’re local farmers committed to supporting local products and working with the resources in our community to offer something for everyone." In the spirit of the holiday, please bring a non-perishable food donation, which will be used to support local food pantries. |
