Check out Extreme Sell This House this weekend since yours truly (aka The Flooring Girl) will be featured on it.
As many of you know, we were lucky enough to get featured in 2 episodes of Extreme Sell This House in part due to my blog. One of my customers (who was selling her house) got picked up by the show. They liked our previous work, and by coincidence someone in Texas had also recommended us. They checked out my blog, and loved the idea of "The Flooring Girl."
They asked us to work on 2 houses in Yonkers, NY. Apparently, one of the episodes aired a week or two ago, and I missed it (but they are sending a DVD). Not sure if I missed the email since I was so busy, but the main episode that I'm in is taking place this Saturday on A&E at 12pm EST/11am CST. I can't wait (although I'm a bit nervous to see how it came out). I know my customer is thrilled with the work. We did the floors; coincidentally, I know the painters and I brought in the cabinet guy. My customer has a bright and cheery personality. She and her family are featured on there. (Not sure about the dog, but the dog was lovely too and dog remembered me!)
It was really fun filming this, and I really got to see how these shows operate from an insider's perspective. The show was filmed in August, and it was an extremely busy time for us as we had a ton of customers in a rush (many were moving into new homes just before the school year) and my Production Manager was away. If you watch the show, you'll see that we had an unplanned surprise as it related to the floors when they were ripped up...and as a result, we had to regroup and get a new crew and different materials delivered within 14 hrs, so definitely some added stress on my end...all while I was severely sleep deprived.
In the end, I think everyone was happy. I have to say, I was so thrilled to meet the cast and crew including Tanya Memme, Roger Hazard and Charlie Frattini. Much to my surprise, the cast and crew is super super nice...I didn't really have expectations one way or the other...but wow they were so unbelievably sweet and down to earth.
It also turns out that Charlie Frattini is a local contractor in Croton-on-Hudson NY. I'm hoping to do some flooring for one of his customers in the spring...and who knows...maybe many more to come. (also, I told Charlie I would help him with some of his SEO).
I'm looking forward to seeing this episode and sharing this on my website and newsletter. They are sending me DVD's, but as many of you know, I'm a bit tech challenged when it comes to video, so I have no idea how to splice it or send people to it, etc. So that will be another project on my to do list.
I hope you get a chance to watch Extreme Sell This House this weekend (or maybe TiVo it).
