New barkery, dog grooming and pet boutique in north Phoenix

This weekend, I had the pleasure of going to a couple of great farmers markets in Cave Creek, AZ. It was a pleasant way to spend time with my visiting family and walk off some of that turkey while enjoying our wonderful weather (yes, it was in the 80's F this weekend - sorry all you northerners.)

I met a delightful couple, Steph and Jeff Knutsen who were selling their organic and homemade doggy treats at one of the booths. As we were talking, they mentioned they are opening up a great new barkery, self-serve dog wash, pet grooming and boutique Cookies N Clean in the Tramonto shopping center next to Bed Bath and Beyond. Located at Carefree Hwy just west of I-17, this will be a great addition to the Tramonto, Amber Hills and Carefree crossing neighborhoods. They expect to be open in March to meet all of your pets needs.

Joni, if your dog doesn't need grooming, just a bath, you can use their big tubs and the dryers. Saves on the mess in your home. Also, those tubs are HUGE and so much safer than anything you would have at home. I know when I try to bath mine "boys", there's water everywhere and they run around the house afterward rubbing on everything - making everything wet.

Marilyn, Cookies N Clean will certainly be a great addition to this newly developing area in north Phoenix.

Hi there Juli, we have one locally also and it is a nice alternative to leaning over a bathtub to bath you dogs. No water, no mess, no wet dog smell and no sore back from the experience. Good luck to Cookie and Clean from us too.

Jacque and Larry, do they offer the dryers, as well? I like the fact the dogs get the large dryer and get warmed up after the bath right away. No matter how much we towel dry them, they're still wet with all that fur. And, here, I don't like for them to go outside to warm up because they'll just role in the dirt and become a muddy mess, LOL.

Hi there Juli, they do! We have a new dog wash attached to a local car wash that opened in May this year. I have not seen that one yet but they are said to have two dog wash rooms for washing dogs. We will have to check it out and get some details.

I think Cookies N Clean is onto something! Self-serve is a great idea!

My pony-sized Ridgeback hates when a groomer bathes him...& me bathing him outside is like a bad scene at a water park! But giving him a scrub-down in a big tub would be nice.

Jacque & Larry - what a great idea - next to the car wash - drop off the car to be washed, run in and wash the dogs - leave with at least 2 newly cleaned items - I love it!!!!

OMG - I can't even imagine washing one that big, Brian. That's CRAZY. I think my two cocker spaniels are handfuls, LOL.
