Spar Tavern in Tacoma WA is an amazing, fun tavern located in the area called"Old Town." This is a historical tavern that has been in existance since the 1920's! I discovered this place after moving to the area this past August. I was out with my boyfriend on a 2 hr walk exploring the area. His brother, who is now in his 50's worked there in high school. They had the world's best burgers & beer than & it remains the same today! So after walking for 2 hours we stopped in and had their worlds famous bacon, swiss & mushroom burger and home frys with their scrumptous Joe's sauce! Washing it down with a fabulous microbrew, we were definately happy campers! While there we found out that on the weekends they have a wide variety of bands from Rock on Fridays to Jazz on Sundays!

Lisa, this looks like a super fun place! Maybe I'm just hungry, but that is some kinda terrific looking burger. I have a good friend who lives near Tacoma and I'll have to put this spot on our list for my next visit out west. Thanks for sharing.
