3 Tools to Help Sellers Understand the Benefits of Staging

Previously, I posted Top 5 Reasons You Should Professionally Stage Your Home and it left me wondering if there are Realtors® who could use a credible marketing tool for their clients? Are you familiar with RESA (Real Estate Staging Association)? If not, I highly recommend reviewing their website for consumer information and the latest statistics on Staging. I am a member, however, I do not work for RESA so this recommendation is simply that. If you're looking for help explaining the benefits of Home Staging without the pressure of alienating your Sellers, RESA offers a DVD titled, The Consumer's Guide to Real Estate Staging.

 Your Sellers can learn:

·         The benefits of staging and staging statistics

·         How to get your home sold quickly, with less stress and possibly for more money

·         How to find the right home stager by asking critical questions during the interview process

There's also a nifty, free  Home Staging Savings Calculator on RESA's website that tallies up how much a Seller might expect to pay if they choose not to stage their home.

And, finally, offer to have a homeowner review a Professional Home Stager's portfolio. Before and After Photos are probably the most powerful tool in illustrating the impact Staging can make. Once they see how Staging increases the value, they'll understand how their home can sell quickly and for more money.

Cheers to a successful sale!

If the old adage of image is everything or you dont get a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression are true many simply miss the boat not giving their home the best presentation they can.

Good post

I took a staging course here in NJ.  It was very helpful and I've tried to apply it to my listings and I use it with my marketing tool as part of my services.  The hard part is getting the client to keep it that way after pictures have been taken!

I am a big believer in staging! It is so refreshing to take a buyer into a home that is decluttered and staged. Thanks for the links.

US Mortgages - Thank you, both adages are very true in my mind.

Melissa - Yes, vacant stagings are a little easier to maintain than occupied stagings. Maybe a folder with photos of each room left for the Seller to review before a showing would help remind them how it was originally staged?

Gene - terrific! Glad this will help.

Thank you, Wayne. Let me know if they are useful for you.

Kristi - Thanks so much for visiting!

Hi Kim ~ If only all sellers understood that powerful benefits of staging!  We have to continually educate the public about how staging can help sellers and their agents, and RESA works hard at doing that.  I'm glad I'm a member!
