Boise Real Estate websites: Back in 1998 when I started my career as a Realtor/Broker there were no real estate websites in Boise that had multiple listings. Real Estate websites then were little more than an advertisement with a Realtors picture, a blurb about why you should call them, there phone number and maybe a couple listings of there own.
Boy have we come a long way. www.BoiseRealtyStore.com was the first website in Boise with a link to the MLS. It was crude, but pretty good. For 20 years before that I had been a real estate investor. I owned residential property, comerical rentals, and a couple of businesses. I usually frustrated with Realtors. I lived in a small town, did real estate there and in other small Idaho towns. Getting information was like pulling teeth! The reason I got my Real Estate license was not to be a Realtor. It was to be able to use the MLS.
One thing lead to another. I retired too young, was bored, had a broker friend and started showing property. I had a big idea to have a website with all listings on it. The MLS was even new to agents and brokers. Many Realtors still used "the book."
I never worked for a big company. In fact I was the only agent my broker had. My broker really discouraged me about my website and didn't want the MLS online. I worked with IMLS and made it work. I also spent hours each day doing searhes for people who signed up for it. I had to do it manually. There was no automatic or save search at first. So I did them manually daily and used efax to email listings to potential clients.
Well it worked. As soon as I had my 2 years of agent time in I got my brokers license and started my own company. I was so busy I couldn't handle I still planned on being a broker for a few years. I didn't need to work. But the more I got involved with retail real estate the more I liked it!. Soon I had a few Realtors including my daughter and son in law. So here it is 12 years later! I did several other websites including www.BoiseHomesandLandforSale.com and www.BoiseLandandHomes.com. I tried a lot of different things. Finally we went to an outside developer for www.BoiseMeridianRealEstate. Now all of Jon Gosche, Boise Real Estate websites lead there. We think it is the best. Please try it and come back and comment to me how we can make it better and stay the best Boise Real Estate website there is.
