I always take a few minutes hours out of my schedule each year to run by and visit the festival myself! I'm never disappointed and always glad I made the time to wander through the "streets"! Lots of of shoppes set up offering a variety of wares. All of of the shoppes are manned by artisans dressed in olde English attire and are decorated to match the theme of the festival. Arts, crafts, home items and gifts are some of the items available to purchase. There's always some unique items you can't find anywhere else that might be the perfect Christmas gift for that "hard to buy for" person on your list.
Last year I stopped by a Christmas ornament shop that I fell in love with. The owner has lots and lots of ornaments ready to personalize for you and your family. Be sure to visit her shop or check out her website kathysornaments.com to see the huge selection of items she has.
There's lots of food to eat offered at the Dickens Festival as well. You can choose from Mr. Bumble's Buns giant cinnamon rolls, crepes filled with ham, cheese and asparagus, authentic fish and chips and ethnic food to name a few. Of course there's also plenty of goodies like carmel apples and funnel cake!
The Dickens Festival also offers entertainment such as theatrical performances of "Oliver Twist" and "Scrooge" each night as well as music presented by local schools and performers.
The Dickens Festival in a super way to kick off the Christmas season and for many families has become a tradition. Father Christmas is also available for a chat and photos that will be cherished for years to come. If you happen to be in southern Utah during the Festival be sure and stop by!
