If you have not yet been to the Astor House Museum yet, the holiday season is a wonderful time to visit! The Astor House is one of the oldest buildings in Golden and served as a boarding house until 1971. Attrackting weary travelers looking for a nice bed and a warm bath, the Astor House Museum will draw you in the same hospitality and warmth.
Operating during the Colorado Gold Rush, the Astor House saw many miners, legislators, and in later years, students from Colorado School of Mines. Located on 12th St, the Astor House is right in the heart of Golden. Enjoy learning holiday crafts or Victorian games in the boarding house as it has been trimmed and decorated for the holidays.
Occurring every Tuesday through Saturday throughout December, you can bring the whole family visiting from out-of-town! Afterward, take the family for a stroll near the water to visit another of Golden’s great Museums, the Clear Creek History Park. Open Wednesday through Saturday, the Astor House Museum shows how history still lives in Golden!
