Turn it Up! at the Golden History Center
Now on view at the Golden History Center is Turn it Up! This ongoing musical experience features a variety of special and unique instruments. If you have a musician in the family, bring them by to see the J.M. Pelton square grand piano. The Golden History Center tells us that this piano was once owned by John Evans, a Colorado Territorial Governor.
They also have a Taylor & Farley melodeon, the Chicago Cottage Organ Company pump organ, and a one-of-a-kind velvet-covered Regal upright piano that was featured at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. Turn it Up! will also teach you about the amazing people behind the music with a special interactive multimedia component in the Music-Maker Lounge. Come by for some amazing sights and sounds! The Golden History Center is hosting a multitude of other exhibitions as well. Focusing on the stories, artifacts, and photography that have given Golden a rich culture and heritage, the Golden History Center is always finding new things that have made the city great.
If you love the photography, the Golden History Center is also selling professional prints of the beautiful pictures in their collection. You can be assured the money will go to helping the Center take care of their growing collection and your newly purchased picture will find a loving home for the holidays! This sale will only last until the end of the year, so make sure to stop by soon!
