Seriously. This is one of the Rockies most phenominal settings.
The Ridge At Schweitzer Mountain is located 1 mile up the mountain from Schweitzer Mountain Resort. I'm incredibly biased, I admit...but you just can't do better than Schweitzer. Today is December first...I've already had three days of mid-calf powder skiing so far this year, one day of bright bluebird skies, no rocks and Schweitzer hasn't even opened fulltime yet! Plus I mowed the backyard yesterday at my home in the valley (Sandpoint, Idaho) 10 miles from the lifts. In other words, the best of all worlds. ...and now the best of all worlds at a 30% reduction!
I take very little pleasure in watching real estate prices plummet, but, in some cases it calls for a certain amount of celebration. The dream of owning property at a ski area the magnitude of a Schweitzer Mountain Resort can be realized...and that's a good thing. Not only have land prices fallen but so have construction costs. Owning a custom, single-family cottage in your own little piece of utopia is attainable!
The Ridge At Schweitzer offers so much to the homeowners in The Ridge community. A free shuttle picks up skiers on demand and delivers them right into the Village. No parking hassles! After a day on the slopes, you can ski right to your door...no need to find your way back to the Village, take off your boots and trek to your parked car somewhere. The free shuttle is always available, however, to take you back to your cottage if you find yourself in the Village enjoying some of the apres-ski activities. (Of course, weather and muscles permitting, you can always "leg-it" back to your cottage on The Ridge and enjoy one of the most beautiful 1 mile walks you could ever ask for). It's a win-win, not really a tough sell.
So, are you sold yet? Let's talk about the clincher. There's a lake at the base of Schweitzer. Not just any lake...Lake Pend Oreille - (surface area: 148 sq. mi., 65 mi. long, 1,150 ft. deep)...this is not casual. And the best part? Lake Pend Oreille is a swimming lake with an extended swimming season. This is almost unheard of in the Northern Rockies.
So, if you're not a fanatical skier, living on The Ridge offers incredible non-skiing opportunities & adventures. Play in the lake 10 miles from your front door, hike the endless trails just outside of your back door, mountain bike trails that run "forever", pick huckleberies everywhere on the Ridge and everywhere else on the mountain or just sit on your porch and enjoy the wildlife, the views & the four spectacular seasons. I'll say it again...win-win!
Say no more. Call me. I could go on all day about this place!
