Motivational Power Quote

You Set The Height of the Bar

“Do just once what others say you can’t do and

you will never pay attention to their limitations again.”

James R. Cook, explorer

As I see it . . . . . . .

You set the height of the bar

People will come into your life and tell you what your limits are.

They are the can’t people, you know them as soon as you meet them; they will tell you can’t do this and you can’t do that. There life is full to the brim with can’t.

They take joy in discouraging people from reaching their potential and getting them to buy into self limiting beliefs of can’t.

The can’t people sets the bar for self limiting beliefs and makes every attempt to suppress a person’s motivation and tries to convince a person not even to try.

When you meet a can’t person move away from them as quickly as you can, remove them from your life before they will try to infect you with a case of can’t.

You set the height of the bar for your success journey and the pace of your journey. You can set the bar as high as you want it to be. Don’t allow people to come into your life and set a bar of limitations.

Very true!  Years ago, when I was the single mom of 3 and working full time, I was told I shouldn't even try to go to law school.  Everyone seemed to think I wouldn't be able to do it.  Well I accepted the challenge, and won a number of honors in law school, made law review, graduated with honors, and passed the California State Bar easily on the first attempt.  I practiced law for nearly 20 years before I sold my practice and decided to focus stricly on real estate.  I'm glad I never let the naysayers get me down.

Okay, so I have the opposite problem--I over-commit--I can't be satisfied at the present level that WAS the next level in the previous year!!  I sometimes set it TOO high and then drive myself nuts trying to achieve it!!  Oh, wise one, what shall I do?!!  :-)

Being careful and recognizing this is early on is the key. .I see in some cases their own spouses are the most negative influence for some people.. and they are doing with love. .

When I was young my mother told me daily that I would never amount to a thing. Nostradamus she wasn't.

Very true. When you learn to believe in yourself and not what others say, you will succeed.
