It's the most wonderful time of the year - at least it should be.

It's the most wonderful time of the year - at least it should be.

Don't forget to take stock of what's really important. Yes, there are lots of chores, parties, cooking, shopping and wrapping to do.

However, don't forget to celebrate the reason for the season.  Regardless of your religious views, this should be a time of giving and sharing our love with others. (Not just gifts wrapped in pretty paper).

It's the most wonderful time of the year - at least it should be.

It's already December 2nd, and no doubt you have many items on your 'to do' lists. It is my great hope that you slow down, enjoy the moments and remember to savor each
magical day with the people you love.

After all, it's the most wonderful time of the year - at least it should be.

It's the most wonderful time of the year - at least it should be.

Hi Debb - Very timely thoughts - this is a very special time of the year, but it's too easy to be distracted from the really important stuff. We all need to find the right balance and enjoy the season.

Marco - that was Alaska last Christmas. :) Explains a lot right?

Hi Dick - thank you. It is easy to get caught up in the whirlwind - balance is critical.

Hi Debb,

I was going to ask about the snow but I got my anser from your comment. You are very on the money with your comment. Slow down and let all who are important to you know that they are important. Thanks for the excellent advice.

Debb,

We take the point of view that we should have every day be Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentines' Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and every other wonderful holdiay.  It is not about STUFF, it is about experiences, which encompass love and appreciation.  Everything else pales by comparison.  A

Everyday I wake up and wish that life could be as simple as a snow globe. You shake it and all your dreams of a white Christmas would appear in your perfect world.

Merry Christmas my friend,

Hi Debb.    Love your post and the pictures.   Our family decided years ago that in lieu of gifts (for all over 8), each "family" would host a get together during November and December.   Needless to say, we get together a lot!     It is so much fun and everyone looks forward to hanging out.   The holiday has become stressless!      We do however do a Yankee swap on Christmas Day and that has turned into a hysterical fun filled tradition!    Thanks for the reminder my friend!

Debb - I love this post!  We get so caught up in the hustle and bustle that we forget the reason for the season.  I am looking forward to family time this year.  Especially since we have a new son-in-law in our family.  I hope your Holidays are filled with the Joys of the season!

Debb, your surroundings look very familiar --- we have lots of that white stuff right now too, with more coming later today.     It is truly time to contact, visit and spend time with those you care about.    No presents involved!

Hi Debb - it's been too long and I've missed you! Love your words of wisdom and you are so right to not get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life you forget to play, have fun, spend time with friends and family! I loved you blog boarder so much it inspired me to change mine! Finally something new - I forgot how easy it is! I spent all day decorating the outside of my home with my husband - tons of green swags with white lights and red bows - it looks beautiful and we had a great day! Looks like you're enjoying the  holiday season and that snow looks beautiful!

Bob, and Alexandra - I know you get it - and I always appreciate your consistent visits and comments on my blog, I sure appreciate you two. D

Mary - thanks much - that was in Alaska last December - we went for Christmas and had a magical week of snow and then sunshine...:)

Todd - that is a beautiful sentiment and I think many of us share your "snow globe" wish. :)

Cal Gal - we also do something similiar with a gift exchange between the grown-ups...it's fun and more managable for all. Is the Yankee swap similiar to the "White Elephant?"
