Community Partner -- Support Fresco Community Market

Fresco Community Market located at 5914 Monterey Road(at Via Marisol and Avenue 60) in the Hermon District within the city of Los Angeles.   The store is highly convenient to those in other northeast communities within the city of Los Angeles especially:   Monterey Hills, Highland Park, Garvanza, Montecito Heights, Mount Washington and El Sereno as well as the city of South Pasadena just to the north of the store.

The store opened in February 2011 and features an open loft-like appearance highlighted by organic produce, butchers ready to assist, a takeaway deli, in-store bakery with wi-fi, wine, interesting and exotic foods and a very friendly staff.

Since opening, the Fresco Community Market promotes a giving back to the community spirit as was evidenced this week with a facebook page notice.   With the recent power outages from the intense windstorms in our area, many lost power(Fresco's lights looked like a beacon in the neighborhood).   Fresco Community Market offered those who had been affected by the loss of power could store food from their freezer at the store free of charge as long as was necessary.

So, if you are in the area, please support Fresco Community Market.   You can see more on their website:

Will - supporting a local grocer who gives back to the community plus has good products and customer service is a good thing in my book.

Belinda - yes, businesses that help out when things are not quite "normal" is indeed very cool.

Michelle -- thanks very much.

Jeffrey -- while the large chains have many things to offer, I think it's as or more important to highlight locally owned businesses especially those who are an important community partner.  I'll look forward to reading your post.

Endre -- sounds like a good plan.

Michael, I have had a power outage for a couple of days, and boy, is it nice to have someone store your frozen food so it isn't going to cost you hundreds to replace those items.

You and Fresco are to be commended for being community-minded.  Thanks.

What an interesting idea for a store to help support the Fresco Community Foundation (I clicked on the link and read about them).

Cheryl -- supporting small business is good for our communities and I believe makes each of the real estate markets we serve a little more interesting.

Todd -- I agree if a small business can help support the community -- it makes sense that members of that community will benefit by their patronage.   Best of success to you in 2012.

Jim -- definitely a good thing.

Bob -- you sure have the Vegas spirit.   Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well.
