Sioux Falls Christmas Trees. Baumgartner's Trees and Landscaping..The Best Place To Go!

By

A Christmas tradition at our house every year is to get a real tree. I have tried every variety known to man over the years. From Scotch Pines, to Douglas Firs to White Firs to Fraser Firs I have gave them a go. What I have found is that a Fraser Fir is the only tree for me.          With the superb needle retention and a scent that is not overpowering it has been our Christmas tree of choice for years. Our other Christmas tradition has been to get our tree from Baumgartner Trees and Landscaping Inc. They are conveniently located next door to the Sioux Falls Arena at 1701 W. Madison St.  Baumgartner’s has trees aplenty as well as wreaths and poinsettias.  They also flock trees as well if you would like a little snow. So if you are in need of a fresh tree go down and pick one up.

Baumgartner’s is a local Sioux Falls business owned by the Baumgartner Family.  Happy Holidays!

We started buying real tree last year and loved it. We have decided that we will be buying real tree from now on. The smell of it is great.

There's nothing like a real Christmas tree and nothing can replace it.  These local growers are the best place to purchase a fresh one as the ones on most of the lots have been shipped and are a few weeks old before they ever get to you.

Congrats on the feature! Great localism post and a great shout out for local businesses. I had fresh pine trees for Christmas for several years until we realized that the sneezing was related to the tree. They are beautiful though. Thanks for sharing.

Doug- Sadly my tree is shipped in every year since Fraser Firs cannot handle South Dakota weather. They are actually grown in North Carolina! I have to say though my tree is always fairly moist even when I take it down January 1!

I like this post and the subject matter..I used to rent space to Xmas tree sellers and I learned that if you pop those little pimples found on the tree...it releases the sap and a wonderful scent too..good post

Hello my friend Tammy! Hopefully you are having a spectacular weekend! I did a crazy amount of work yesterday including getting my tree, and am just being a slug today. I do have an open house thought! Hopefully that will go fast!

Richie- I love everything about a real Christmas tree most of all that they look and smell real. It is all about tradition with me! I do have to admit I like those tinsel trees from the 60's? 70's?? the ones with the spinning color wheel!? Now those were cool!

Great post! This is a wonderful way to enjoy the season.

@Angel - many people are allergic to pine, unfortunately. It might be possible to try a small decoration of fir or another non-pine tree which will also smell great, and possibly not cause the reaction.
