Crooks Community Christmas Has Moved To Sioux Falls. December's Season of Celebrations and Sharing

What started out in 2006 as one man going a little crazy with his Christmas lights has turned into a huge display at the Western Mall in Sioux Falls. Christmas at the Western Mall is what has become of Joe Noe’s Crooks Community Christmas. Starting out in 2006 the show was a fundraiser for the SD Make A Wish Foundation, which entailed a light and sound show at Noe’s personal residence in Crooks, SD. As the event grew bigger and bigger year after year the lines grew to the point that it would take hours to get to the actual house. Noe actually sold his house which prompted the move into Sioux Falls and the Western Mall for the 2010 show. Since that move the display has gone inside and does now not have to deal with weather issues or lack of accessibility. Hours of operation are 5:30-9:30 everyday starting Thanksgiving through New Years Day. This program has every year raised over 20K for the SD Make A Wish program! Here is a video from a earlier year to give you an idea of what the show entails. Merry Christmas!

Love it but wonder how the neighbors feel... LOL.  I don't have the time, energy or storage to go all out like this but it's quiet cool to watch!

John- Actually he had to move it into Sioux Falls when he sold his house last year! It was getting to big for the area! Hence moving it to a public venue and inside!

Good idea moving it inside.  Is it considered politically incorrect these days?  LOL

Mimi- I guess I liked it better outside but from the convenience side of things many more people can get to it now! It is way more accessible and can therefore get more donations for Make A Wish! Love the new profile pic! Very cute!

thanks, honey, and I think that I would like it better outside also.  Seems mundane to have it inside, but if it makes more money, then all the better.

Mimi- Yes the whole reason the display started was to support Make A Wish so more money is good!
