Heritage Square in Golden is one of those destinations in Colorado that can not be missed. Many generations have fond memories spending time with family at this attraction. Located just outside of Golden and fifteen minutes West of Denver, Heritage Square is a Victorian inspired amusement park and shopping center.  Originally built as Magic Mountain by some of the Disneyland staff, its current incarnation includes a shopping center, restaurants, the playhouse, and park rides!

Many of the shops feature Colorado specific gifts and food. The restaurants include Notz Landing, a 1950’s diner, which was featured on Food Network’s Unwrapped. Although the rides close for the winter season, the shops and both the Heritage Square Music Hall and Children’s Theater perform throughout the holidays. Noted as one of the best dinner theaters in Colorado, the Heritage Square Music Hall is a great way to enjoy a night out with the whole family. No visit to Heritage Square would be complete without riding the Alpine Slide! After you take a chair lift up to the top of the mountain, you can grab a sled and cruise down one of the two ½ mile tracks! If the Alpine Slide is a little too intense for you or your child, you could take a ride on the Rio Golden Railroad, wander through the Miners Maze, or head into the rest of the Heritage Square Amusement park for classic rides and games.

Heritage Square has been a family destination for over 30 years. That is 10,950 days of fun so don’t let this wonderful gem go to waste! Prices vary throughout the park depending on what you would like to do. Check the park websites for any blackout dates due to company events or weddings.
