On November 8, San Ramon citizen elected a new Mayor, Bill Clarkson, only second elected Mayor in San Ramon, the previous one was Mayor Abraham Wilson who was termed out after 8 years as the Mayor or San Ramon. Prior to the elective Mayor system, San Ramon City Council Members rotated to be Mayor. I have known Bill and his wife for few years. I am very happy for Bill and for the City of San Ramon, we have new leader who will lead us to meet new challenges that we may face. Bill Clarkson sworn in as Mayor on Dec. 5 2011.
Mayor Bill Clarkson has been a San Ramon residence for over 30 years. Bill was the recipient of the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce’s “Life-Time Achievement Award” in 2010 (only three people have ever received this award); San Ramon’s “Business Person of the Year” in 1997 ; Parks & Community Services Commissioner, City of San Ramon, 2010-Present; Contra Costa County Business Council’s “Business Person of the Year” 2002; San Ramon Charter City Commissioner, 1998, Past-President of the San Ramon Rotary Club; 1995-96, Three times Elected to the San Ramon Valley Unified School Board of Trustees; Charter President of the Dougherty Valley/San Ramon Rotary Club, Chairman of the Board, San Ramon Chamber of Commerce, 2008; Chair Person, City of San Ramon Housing Advisory Committee, 1993-94; Board of Directors, San Ramon Valley Education Foundation 1997-98.
Bill Clarkson is a great leader, people of San Ramon believe in him, he will take the City of San Ramon to the next level, make it even a better place to live, work and to raise family.
