Decorating for Christmas - Call a Stagger

Real Estate Agent with Diane O and Friends - Benchmark Realty 290309

Holiday DecorationsThose holiday traditions.  This holiday season is the time of year that we gather together with our families and participate in a variety of different family and cultural traditions.  We put up holiday lights, sing carols, bake cookies, eat candy canes, give each other gifts, and decorate the  tree with ornaments.    So you are getting ready to deck the halls but you don't know where to begin?  Well, give a home stagger a call. Yes, a home stagger.  When you list your home with Diane O and Friends, we provide a 1-hour free home staging consultation.  Just as the home stagger knows how to  make you house feel appealing to a buyer, they can make your home ready for the holidays. The home stagger is a home decorator at heart and they will be able to help you get your home ready for the holidays.    And what better way to relieve some of the holiday stressthen to have someone else hang the garland and trim the tree.

So why do we decorate?

The tradition of decorating a tree with Christmas ornaments did not start until around 600 A.D.  Christmas trees remained undecorated until the 1500s when the founder of the Lutheran Church, Martin Luther, decorated a Christmas tree in his hometown of Riga, Latvia with lighted candles to show his children what makes the stars twinkle so brightly through the night. From then on, people began adorning their Christmas trees with candles, candies, fruits, and ornaments. Popular Christmas ornaments of the time included various food items, such as fruits, gingerbreads, wafers, and coated candies. This was meant to symbolize the fruits that grew on the Tree of Paradise in the Garden of Eden. Flowers were also commonly used as Christmas ornaments, but only red ones symbolizing knowledge and white ones symbolizing innocence were used. Venders began making wax ornaments and other non-perishable items for decorating trees and the Christmas ornament industry began!

Diane.  What a great idea to have a home stager decorate for the holidays.  I would like to do that even though I'm not selling my home.
