Is Big Brother At It Again?

I recently read a comment in the Kane County Chronicle regarding installing cameras at certain points in Geneva, IL to catch people who go through red lights. I'd be interested to hear what residents living in Geneva think of the idea.  Personally, I think it's a GREAT idea!  I have noticed lately that loads of people are doing this & hopefully, if it saves even one life, it's worth it.  It seems to me that everyone is in such a hurry - to where, what is so important?? I can understand it if someone is rushing to the hospital!  Randall Rd. is becoming impossible with everyone in a hurry to get to the next red light. The other day I was on Rt. 31 in Geneva & there is no doubt most people were going a good 15/20 miles over the speed limit. As a Realtor in the area, I'm in my car a lot & I refuse to let a tailgater force me to go the speed they want me to. I say plan the day a little better & let's take being polite into 2008! The other day I was getting my car washed & I even had someone honk at me to move up 2 feet - now how was that going to get his car washed faster??  I'd love to hear what other people think of this situation.

Wenatchee WA is currently looking into installing the same system. The great thing, in addition to saving lives, is that a private company installs the system and then shares the revenue with the city. The city has no costs!

Welcome to the Rain Kathy....

I think that when people act like that (the honking etc)it's very aggressive. I can't help but think they are helpless in their daily lives and feel empowered behind the wheel!
