Do You Have A Business Vision For 2012? What Would You Choose to do if You Thought ANYTHING was possible?

As me and my team are preparing our 2012 business plan and setting our goals, we will also talk about our business vision. One of the questions I will ask my team this week-end will be concerning their vision for 2012:  "What would you choose to do if you thought ANYTHING was possible?"

One of the exercises will be to write out some of the HUGE dreams they have always had and goals they wanted to accomplish - holding nothing back - thinking anything is possible!

Then beside each of these goals, I will ask them to write a graphic description of how their future would change if these dreams came true and they achieved these goals. I am asking them to make this as detailed and descriptive as possible. What about you? What if you close your eyes, and imagine……..and then write it down! There is POWER in writing down those goals.

The prophet wrote, “Without a vision, people perish….”.By first focusing on WHAT you really want, WHY you want it, and then developing a vision of what your “success story” will look like when you achieve it, you are developing your a mindset of purpose and possibility.

Vision answers the question:“Where am I going?”  Vision is our hope, inspiring us, leading us, motivating us.

Tim Enochs in his book “Every Day is Game Day”talks about the 4-Dimensional vision process:

1) Discovery.

This is when you go through the process of opening your heart to your true self and discovering your purpose or reason for your existence.Your vision lies within you right now.It has always been there.Discovery is drawing it out.

2) Development

This is the stage where you write a clear and concise vision statement – or vivid description. This is a portrait of what the future will look like after you achieve your goals.

3) Display.

This is how you chart the journey from where you are now to where you want to be; and

4) Deployment.

Implementing the disciplines which you have identified as keys to your success.

Having a business vision is crucial to building a successful business. What would you choose to do if you thought ANYTHING was possible?

Dreaming big is just the begining.  Build your plans in sand and your goals in cement.

Great post, Louise!  In a prev business life (high tech) we used to call those over-reaching goals (or super-stretch targets) BHAG's (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) - the ones you need to set to really make a difference in the industry (and in your business career).

I think the dreaming part . . everybody have it already down path. .

It is the  discipline, the habits and the desire to achieve it, when most people actually fail.

To achieve that discipline you must find your why. .and it must be strong enough that will compel you to develop your achievable habit. .because it is the reason why you lose or win. . when all the lights are out, you are hurting and is raining outside. .and when no one is looking that  your why comes to play. .and you do it anyways.

That is when you know you will achieve that goal.

As always, I come to your blog to just say hi. .and you get me started Louise. .lol
