The 31st annual Holiday Regatta of Lights will be hosted by the St. Augustine Yacht Club on December 10, 2100 at 6 pm on the Matanzas River in downtown St. Augustine.
The boat parade route begins east of the Castillo de San Marcos and north of Davis Shores neighborhood on the Matanzas River. Boats travel south on the Intracoastal Waterway into Matanzas Bay, circling in a counterclockwise direction, keeping the Bay Front, Bridge of Lions, and Eastern shore to starboard. The Grand Marshall will lead all the boats and will make two laps.
The Boat Parade is a spectacular and colorful parade of sailboats, sport-fishermen, trawlers, shrimp boats, and many other vessels representing the maritime roots of the St. Augustine and its rich nautical heritage as the Oldest City. Spectators along the downtown seawall, on the Bridge of Lions and homes in Davis Shores have a marvelous view of the boat decorations and are close enough to shout out to the Captain and crew of the boats.
The annual Holiday Regatta of Lights is always a memorable occasion. Trophies will be awarded in 18 categories this year. A post-parade reception and awards ceremony is held at the St. Augustine Yacht Club for Captains & Crew.
