Enjoy an Evening of Original Music, presented by students of Fairfax Academy's Music and Computer Technology class. Performances will include a brass quintet, solo pianists, singer-songwriters and rock bands performing contemporary, classical, jazz funk, blues and rock music. Take a Candlelight Tour of the 1794 home of Northern Virginia’s first congressman, Richard Bland Lee. Hear seasonal music, make an ornament, and sample sugar cookies. Each night discover a different living history experience. 4:45 to 7 p.m. (Tours run every 15 minutes.) Sully Historic Site. $10/adults, $7/seniors and children. Second Saturday Art Walk: Showcasing the diverse work of more than 150 visual artists in a unique historic venue, creating an atmosphere that encourages visitors to immerse themselves in the richness of this creative community. Rani Arbo and daisy mayhem: Rani Arbo and daisy mayhem's eclectic roots music is a fresh take on America's musical traditions that combines folk, blues, swing, Cajun and traditional pop influences. Frontwoman Arbo's expressive alto voice and gifted fiddle playing are backed up by the band's brilliant four-part harmonies, guitar, stand-up bass, recycled drum kit and exuberant on-stage spirit. 8 p.m. McLean Community Center's Alden Theatre. $25/person ($18/McLean Community Center Tax District residents.) Join author Katie Fallon for a talk on Cerulean Blues, her book of the same name, exploring the plight of the cerulean warbler, a tiny migratory songbird struggling to survive in ever-shrinking bands of suitable habitat. "Cerulean Blues" is a story of international intrigue taking the audience from forests in Columbia to eastern North America.
