I am a patriotic person and one that loves my country and the traditions of my roots. Growing up in a ranching and real estate family it was a natural extension for me to become a rodeo cowboy. While rodeo is not as popular as other mainstream sports it definitely has a loyal following in many parts of the U.S. and, you may be surprised to hear , in Canada. Yes, we know that Canada is hockey country but thanks to rodeos like the Calgary Stampede and the Canadian Finals Rodeo there is a huge rodeo fanbase in our neighbor to the north.
Many professional rodeos in the U.S. are co-sanctioned with Canadian associations and it is not uncommon for both national anthems to be played during the opening of a rodeo. Every year at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas one night is dedicated to honoring the Canadian contestants and fans with the singing of their national anthem, and tonight is that night (12/8/2011). I have always appreciated and embraced the mututal respect shown by this tradition where the love of a sport and lifestyle transcend international boundaries.
As the U.S. real estate industry struggled over the past 5+ years our Canadian friends have enjoyed a much stronger market and many Canadian investors have feasted on the great deals found south of the border. Our Arizona market has always appealed to Canadians, first because it's a great place for them to enjoy warm winter weather and, secondly, because Canadian real estate investors have made money in Arizona during the boom and during the bust.
As winter sets in up north I look forward to the opportunity to make friends with a few of our Canadian winter visitors. Whether you are a rodeo fan, hockey fan, baseball spring training fan or simply looking for a little sunshine we have it all in Arizona. On top of all that, we offer tremendous opportunities in the Arizona real estate market.
