Hello! All,

We need everyone's help to prove our 28 year old daughter that she is more out of touch than we are. LOL Being the "next generation" she is one of those kids that believe if she is not into something than it is passe. Yesterday, as I was working on an upcoming blog, she phoned to simply chat & asked me what we were up to. When I told her that I had been working on a blog, she responded, " people still do that? That's so 1990's ". In her defense, in 1990, she was only 7 yrs old & doesn't really remember that it was dial up internet at that point. LOL Her point was trying to make me seem out of touch in a semi sarcastic humourous way ( its a family thing ). My point of this blog is to prove her wrong! So what we ask is that you lease just leave a comment, even just saying that you have read this.

Merve - You did not say what your 28 year old daughter does. I would bet that she is NOT is sales where she has to generate her own business. I remember well the 1990 years and I do not remember blogging. Tell your lovely daughter to "get with the times" and help you out by sending pictures and ideas for posts to you. :-) BTW - you might tell her that I made approximately $11,000 from my connections in ActiveRain in 2010 and I only started blogging that year in October. Pretty good ROI!

Blog posts have many purposes and ones with lots of information some one can save money, time reading (or watching, listening to with video blog posts or embeds) really help. There is a distrust by some of getting the honest news without spin and we trust each other, other bloggers for the truth not propaganda more than mainstream media. The shift is away from the commercial enterprises to the guy and gal interview on the street that the blog reader can relate to. Because it's you and I. Not a talking head with two commercial breaks.

Your daughter probably blogs, but she just does it on facebook, or w texts. Most businesses know that blogging is a useful and effective tool. I still use a digital calculator. Some things always retain their usefullness.

A blog is an online essay or article, usually espousing an opinion, providing information, or some combination of the two. Blogs are so ubiquitous that I suspect your daughter just doesn't recognize them as blogs.

@Barbara H Our daughter, although a born sales person, has no interest in the sales industry & has a good career started with the Canadian Military. If she had to follow in her father's footsteps, it might as well be in the profession that has a great medical pkg & pension plan.

@Ken B, I am new to it as well & only started in October.

@Jeanne & Ralph, I think part of being a parent is having a sense of humour, otherwise, you would never survive it lol.
