Delicious, Cost Effective and Sticks to the Ribs and Keeping You Warm During the Winter Months if You Live in Toronto

Since I love to eat and hate to cook, I'm always looking for low maintenance, healthy recipes to make my busy life a litter easier.

Last night I made Split Pea Soup and it was delicious!  This simple recipe was easy to make and if you're watching your waste line this hardy soup sticks to your ribs.. I couldn't have eaten another bite!

If you have any left over meat, I used chicken but you can use turkey, ham etc.

1 1/2 cups of split peas, rinse and remove any stones.

6 cups of water

1 pound of meat, most recommend ham but I used left overs and it was great.

1 pack of soup mix.

1 medium onion chopped.

Salt and pepper to taste

In a pot add all the ingredients and bring to a boil, then turn down to simmer stirring occassionally for 60 to 90 minutes or until purreed.

Ready to serve! Wasn't that easy?  And I could only eat one bowl, I was stuffed.
