Best Of Stowe VT - Food and Dining
Welcome to Stowetopia's Best of Stowe VT™ annual guide to best of the area's dining, shopping, services, and entertainment.

We're serving up the best in Stowe area dining and food with our Best of Stowe VT™ list.  We've dined at all of these terrific spots. No hear-say, we've made certain to visit these locations multiple times over the course of the last year.  We've also tried a great many more dining establishments that didn't make this year's list.  We've visited restaurants as a single ("table for one please"), a romantic couple, a children-in-tow family and an adult group of 12+ friends.

In addition to our personal experiences, we solicited feedback from other "locals" (aka Stowe-area residents), Stowe merchants (who often recommend dining spots to customers), and best of all, our own Stowe Meadows Lodge customers.

This year's list was selected with input from nearly 1,000 residents and area visitors.  All visits to these hot spots needed to take place in 2011 to be part of our survey.

The restaurants on our 2011 Best of Stowe VT™ list consistently deliver amazing food, terrific service and an overall dining experience that makes you say, "I can't wait to go back!".  All are within a 30 minute drive of Stowe, even though they may not be located strictly in

Get out there and try these terrific, often chef-owned or family-owned and operated gems.  You'll be glad you did!   Cheers!

A Special Mention

These terrific restaurants are favorites and would have certainly been on our Best Of Stowe VT list.  Two of these wonderful family-owned restaurants were unable to continue operation in their current location due to damage from Hurricane Irene.

We'll miss The Alchemist and The Shed, both local favorites.  We hope that The Green Cup will reopen in 2012 and we've included information on how you can contribute to the rebuilding efforts of this amazing family-owned restaurant in Waitsfield.

The Alchemist Pub & Brewery - 35 Crossroad - Waterbury, VT  802-244-7744   A fabulous brewery offering scrumptious lunch and dinner menus.  Due to Hurricane Irene damage, the owners have decided not to reopen.  We'll miss you!

The Green Cup -  Waitsfield, VT  802-496-4963  Another family-owned, amazing dining spot that was on our "don't miss" list.  The damage from Hurricane Irene was extensive.  We hope that the rebuilding efforts will allow The Green Cup to re-open in 2012.

The Shed - 1859 Mountain Road - Stowe, VT 802-253-4364   A Stowe institution for 30 years.  Always a favorite for Shed-brewed beer and a "shed burger", The Shed closed its doors on Mountain Road in Stowe in the Fall of 2011.

Cheers!
