Christmas Photo Contest - Soldiers

The Stanley Park Festival of Lights is aglow with holiday cheer.  This year's display was aided by the local firefighters, who strung thousands upon thousand of lights to the trees and buildings in the park.  Many generations have visited the park during winter, the great attraction being the miniature train.  Many of the decorations have been around since the 1960's, and have that charming, retro look that takes one back to their youth.  Don't miss this year's Festival of Lights in Stanley Park!

Sally: Don't let John McCormack see these. He has a phobia! :))) The Festival of Lights looks like a GREAT family tradition!

Carmela - I have to say, it was Joni who propelled me into the Christmas spirit, and I'm so glad she did!

Joni - What does John have a phobia of?  Christmas lights?  Nutcrackers?  Soldiers?...

I find those nutcracker soldiers pretty creepy for some reason Sally. My parents once forced me to go to the ballet, I found the experience less than thrilling. I also hear that they can be a huge pain in the butt when they come to life and start fighting with the mice and other toys. They can make a real mess of your house. It's best to leave them outside in the park.

Malcolm - I do see your point.  The ones you really have to watch out for are the Sugar Plum Faeiries.  They're all sweet and nice to your face, but when the lights go out, they wreak havoc, chasing after the dog and cat around the tree and flirting with all those nutcrackers!
