There was once a Seinfeld episode where George Costanza was trying to extend his unemployment benefits for another month or so. He was working all kinds of games in his attempt to buffalo the unemployment counselor. Jerry made the comment that George was working harder at collecting unemployment than he would at a job. Resembles the Occupy people to me.
Whether they are employed or unemployed, they are working pretty darn hard at protesting. I mean come on, anyone who has ever been camping knows that setting up a tent, and then a complete camp site is not easy. In addition, there are the neighbors to contend with. If you have ever set up camp next to a loud group of all night partiers, you know of what I speak.
Standing in a free food line does not look or sound fun to me. It is cold outside and the food cannot be that appetizing. Plus the line is long and there is realy no where to eat. Add to that the dealings with law enforcement. Keeping on the move in order to stay ahead of them must be a real chore. I mean where do you find all of the rocks to throw?
Finally the whole sign thing. I would think that in order to succeed at protesting and impress your Occupy friends, one would have to continually come up with new signs, and that would mean thinking up new slogans and sayings to put on the signs.
Sounds like work to me.
