Thursday evenings beginning in December signal the opportunity for Vail Valley residents and guests to enjoy free music in the streets of Vail as the Vail Valley Foundation presents the 13th season of the popular Bud Light Street Beat free concert series. The series culminates with the Volvo Grand Prize given away at the final concert on April 12, 2012. This week's performance is by the incredibly talented Marcia Ball, called by Rolling Stone Magazine: "rollicking, playful, good time blues and intimate, reflective balladry...Her songs ring with emotional depth." Bud Light Street Beat is a project of the Vail Valley Foundation.In addition to free music, locals enjoy another great benefit of the Street Beat series: they can register to win great prizes! www.vvf.org
Vail Holidaze kicks off Saturday Dec. 17 with Holiday Treelighting at 5:30 p.m. in Slifer Square
Vail Family Holidaze- the perfect way to celebrate the season with the whole family. Vail comes alive with lights, sounds, events and the cheer of the holiday season during December. From kid's bands, a cappella performances, world class ice shows and Santa's Work Shop, you can't find a more festive atmosphere to spend quality time with the family than Vail. The week-long event starts Saturday Dec. 17 with the annual Holiday Treelighting in Slifer Square at 5:30 p.m. and continues the following day with the Jingle Bellz family snowshoe event at Golden Peak at 8 a.m. www.vail.com/events/holidaze.aspx
