How to Spice up your Kitchen for Home Buyers

Real Estate Agent with Phyllis Frankel Realty Group | Ponte Vedra Real Estate

We love kitchens, and so do buyers. In fact, it is a good bet that a great kitchen will result in more interest in your Phyllis Frankel Realty Group home. With that said, there are a few things you can do to make sure your kitchen stands out from the crowd and draws in buyers.

Here are just a few of the ways you can spice up your kitchen before your next home showing:

·         Fresh flowers or fruit – A kitchen should feel fresh and inviting, and the best way to accomplish this is to add a bowl of fresh fruit or a vase of fresh flowers to your countertop or kitchen table. Think colorful when adding fruit and flowers. We love bowls of lemons or a vase of white and yellow daisies.

·         New cabinet hardware – A kitchen can get an instant facelift with just new cabinet hardware. Spend a few hours and update your kitchen cabinet hardware and your kitchen will look updated and fresh. Plus, new hardware is much less expensive than other types of kitchen updates!

·         Sparkling appliances – If grease, grime and crumbs have gotten the better of your kitchen appliances, now is the time to scrub them down, inside and out. If your kitchen cabinets are staying with the house, this is especially necessary, but even if you’re taking them, it pays to make them shine so that your entire kitchen looks fresh and appealing. For a finishing touch, use window cleaner to make them shine on the outside, and remove magnets, papers and other personal objects from the front of your refrigerator.

·         Clean countertops – Simply put, a kitchen with clutter looks small and cramped, so one of the best ways to clear the clutter in your kitchen is to remove everything that you have deposited on your countertops. Clean, uncluttered countertops make a kitchen look fresh and open, thereby leaving a positive image in buyers’ minds.
