Christmas Time in Katy Texas - An Old Fashioned Christmas Festival - December’s Season of Celebrations & Sharing
On Saturday December 17, 2011 an Old Fashioned Christmas Festival is being sponsored by Katy Market Days. The Festival will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Avenue B in Old Town Katy. Ave B is essentially where a majority of the store are located in Old Katy. This event will feature Santa Claus and real snow arriving at right around noon time. In addition, as one can image there will be delicious food available for purchase and excellent local entertainment. Local business will be open with numerous potential gift ideas for Christmas shoppers. The event is free to attend but all are requested to bring donations of canned goods which will be given to the Food Bank at Katy Christian Ministries (KCM). This is obviously the giving part of this festival. I have previously written blogs about KCM and their food bank. The KCM food bank will feed in excess of 20,000 people during the year 2011.
Katy Market days were established in 2001 and has been a growing endeavor ever since then. Katy Market Days is held on the third Saturday of every month between 2 ND Street and Avenue B. Most of the local vendors with shops in Old Katy participate in the monthly Katy Market Days event. Each month during the year the merchants pick a new theme. I also have written previous blogs about Katy Market days.
