The harder I work, the luckier I get…

The harder I work, the luckier I get…

I don’t remember where I heard this quote, I’m sure it was on Facebook or Twitter or maybe on a billboard, who knows.  Either way, I heard it and immediately liked it, re—tweeted it or perhaps just smiled.  It is such a true saying, if you don’t believe me give it a shot and just see what happens.

After having a pretty good year, I fell into a month or two in late summer that slowed down.  I did not like the slow down one bit so I decided to do something about it. I re-energized my self, put my big girl pants on and set out to end 2011 by improving my focus, become more organized and track my goals and progress.

Well…guess what?

This past month and the next few months are shaping up to be record setting for me!  I am getting more leads, more calls, and more business.  Yes, some of it is directly related to my prospecting activities but  I kid you not, I have been getting some out of the blue dumb luck leads in addition to the ones I’m targeting.  So if you are in a slump get off your rump and start working!  If you do….just wait and see your luck will change!

Update: I just googled it and the quote came from the film producer Samuel Goldwyn.

Jeanna, this is so true-whether it's luck or it's Karma - sweat equity projects are often the best medicine for malaise and for a slow period.  Keep up the good work.

Well, I have used this motto for many many years.  It is true.  I had many agents before I started my own Brokerage, why I was so lucky.   I always told them this

I still say this today and heard it a long long time ago! I would add that life is not about luck, it is about timing, and if you are out their all the time you get business! Have a great 2012!

Jeanna, Amazing what can happen when the effort is there and focuses.  And "dumb luck" leads are often a result of doing all the other things too.  More signs, more blog posts, more web sites....keep increasing the footprint to be found.

William - It is a great motto!

Gary and Melynda - Thanks!

Bliz - I could not agree more!  There is always something we can be doing to improve our chances of getting that lead =)
