Closing Gift From The Client Red Bark Japanese Maple, Liberty Knoll Madison Alabama

Recently I posted about a home that my clients Adam & Jennifer closed on...Sold, Liberty Knoll, Madison Alabama, 35758...we saw a lot of homes and as they were about to give up we found their perfect home.  I really enjoyed working with them and along the way a little story developed.

One home that Adam & Jennifer liked and visited a couple of times had a Japanese Maple in the back yard that they were going to dig up and get rid of if they bought the home...so I told them I would take it.  Then it became a bit of a joke that I was insisting they buy that home so I could get the Japanese Maple.  As things turned out Adam & Jennifer did not buy that home, but to show their appreciation for my efforts they did show up at my office this morning with this Japanese Maple.  After thanking them many times for their generosity my first question was..."you didn't go back to that house and dig it up did you"?...well, of course they didn't...I think.  This was one of those feel good moments that you know you've done a good job...it was noticed and appreciated.

So...thank you to Adam & Jennifer for your gift and the privilege of getting to know you.

It's a little bare now, but wait 'til spring after a little pruning and the leaves return.

It's always nice when a client recognizes the hard work and effort we put in towards helping them buy or sell a home... even if they did dig it up from the yard of a home they didn't purchase!!!

Hi Nick - It's always great when our efforts are recognized and appreciated - gifts from clients are rare, and a Japanese maple, one of my favorites - I wish we had a good climate and location for them here - is an awesome thank you.

Craig-even though we don't expect to get a tangible show of gratitude it definitely is appreciated and confirms we must be doing something right...I guess we should keep that "digging up" thing quiet.

Dick-yes they are rare making this gift much more meaningful.  I have another Japanese Maple...definitely one of my favorite trees.

Kristine-yes always the stager...the tree will be taking a trip home with me so it won't have that art work behind it...haven't decided if I'm going to plant it or leave it potted as possible Bonsai.

Nick it is best that you don't know how they got it that way you can say you did not know anything when they come to take you away ........... LOL

Nick, I too agree with Kristine, great positioning near that painting. The designer in me. I once got a gift from a Japanese couple that came from out of state and I took them out quite a bit. It too is special to me.

BTW see my blog for a Holiday message to you.

What a neat surprise! That Japanese Maple is going to give you years of enjoyment and what a conversation piece it will be through the ages. These are clients you'll never forget; nor will they forget you.

You're a great Realtor - this story is testimony to that!

Nice photo too!!!

George-I'm calling you to make bail :))

Patricia-thanks...I really don't want to plant it in the ground...think I'll leave it potted in case I move so I can take it with me.

John-be careful what you wish for...it wouldn't take much arm twisting to move me (and the tree) down to the land of bikinis!!!

Beth-hey boss...missed your face this weekend, but then you were out buying some really nice toys for us all to play with...now about the "smiling face" are you sure you don't have me confused with Valeska...after all we look so much alike :))

Karen-even when you meet your goal and your client is in the perfect home for them and gotten a great deal to boot...some aren't appreciative...Adam and Jennifer were and like I said, it feels good.
