Dec 16, 2011 - According to the Anglersguide.com salmon fishing season on the Elk River: October through January. The Elk River is 50 miles long with 10 miles of good King Salmon fishing water for late season. The Elk River is a wonderful small stream with more King salmon holding water and holes per mile than any other stream in Oregon. Good Morning George

Thanks for the post and photo. That is a nice looking salmon. With a bowl of grits and a couple of biscuits I'm in heaven ;-). Have a great day

The Elk is a designated 'wild river.' The water is clean and the fish, salmon and steel head, taste great. Thanks for stopping by.
