Dec 16, 2011 - According to the Anglersguide.com salmon fishing season on the Elk River: October through January. The Elk River is 50 miles long with 10 miles of good King Salmon fishing water for late season. The Elk River is a wonderful small stream with more King salmon holding water and holes per mile than any other stream in Oregon. Kings on the Elk River average about 30-pounds, with fish to 50-pounds.
