Santa Comes to Cape Canaveral on a Fire Truck with the Chipmunks

By
Real Estate Agent with Oikos Realty, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach Florida

For many years now, Santa has traditionally rode through Cape Canaveral on a Fire Truck throwing Candy and the blasting the "Chipmunks" all over town. I caught him at the Hitching Post Trailer Ranch which has been here since the sixties when the Space Program started to take off. It is a winter home for snowbirds and has many permanant residents. The Fire Fighters do a great job! Happy Holidays everyone!

Way too cute, John! You did a great job with the video!   I'm also taken that they call it a Trailer "Ranch."  Never heard that label put on a trailer park before!

How fun!! At our first home in Katy, TX...the local fire dept. did something similar, but they would play their sirens the entire time.  The first Christmas there, we thought, "My there must be a BIG fire nearby!" After a while, we figured it out... ;)

Hi Steve - It IS typically Florida isn't it? Santa goes down every street in Cape Canaveral each year.

Thanks Myrl - A former Mayor of Cape Canaveral owns this Trailer "Ranch". I guess he thought it was classier than a "Park" :-) You can walk to the Banana River and the Ocean from this location and it fills up with snowbirds every year.

Sonja - I don't know which would be more annoying; sirens or chipmunks. At least the singing chipmunks fade away as the truck drives on :-) In any case, it spreads good cheer throughout the community.

Sandy - I've seen Santa on a fire truck almost every year since 1991 and it never gets old. The kids (and adults with a sweet tooth) get candy and the smiles are priceless.
