The Magic Of The Santa Fe River and Watershed

The Santa Fe River is more of a stream often hidden in the trees as it makes its way from the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range to the Rio Grande. It is actually a tributary of the Rio Grande and runs intermittently for nearly 46 miles. It is considered an endangered stream and one many in our community work tirelessly to protect and improve our watershed. These images were made on a Fall afternoon in early November and the other a few days ago along East Alameda on the bridge at Paseo de Peralta. It is one of our treasures and why I love Santa Fe...everyday!

Hello Emily,

I have been to Santa Fe quite a few times over the years. I enjoy the many things the city has to offer.

The Sante Fe river is one of them.

Have a great Holiday Season in Santa Fe New Mexico.

Best, Clint and Family in Carlsbad.

Emily, I do love Santa Fe, and I would love to live there.  I have seen the river, but I can't recall where on our several trips to your wonderful area.

It's good to hear you're telling that residents of the area are trying to save your River, Emily.  Hard work, but definitely worth the time and effort.  Your pictures and your blog highlight the need for education in this area.  You do your city and its' residents a great service with this post.

I always look forward to your posts and pictures.  Keep 'em coming ...

Happy Holidays and a very Prosperous New Year, Emily!
