Christmas is coming .... already?

As Halloween has just wrapped up, I am already having Christmas thrown at me everywhere.  Don't get me wrong.  Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year, but I just can't get myself in the spirit untill I unbutton my pants on Thanksgiving... actually, the day after turkey day.  I look forward to opening those boxes of Christmas stuff, each item sending me memories of Christmas pasts.

I am driving down the street and my favorite station is already playing Christmas music.  The stores are putting all of those promotional items out.  As I get older I seem to be getting used to the early spewing of the holiday spirit when leaving my house.  Now it is invading my house.  This is the reason for this blog.

My family tradition has always been to pull out the Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving.  I am now in a relationship with one of those people who wake up the day after Halloween ready to put the tree up.  So I call on my fellow bloggers.  All traditions change with the people you surround yourselves with as I see mine are.

When does your "holidays" start?  I must confess.... His excitement about getting started has given me an early case of the holiday shopping itch, but the decorations, I still believe, should not come out till the day after Turkey Day!

I honor Veterans day first! Then after Turkey day, My wife and her sisters go shopping and leave before I get up and come home after I am asleep...I love it! I put up the outside lights and decorate the yard...then I take myself out to dinner and come home to drink and watch football...the perfect day in a mans life!

I'm totally with you on this one!!...The day after halloween I went to the store to pick up a few things and some discounted halloween candy of course!! As I'm shopping Christmas music is playing!! And workers were getting all that Christmas fun stuff on the shelves!! I couldn't belive it!! I said to myself "noooooo what about the turkey!!??" I can't decorate or shop (which does push it) until the day after Thanksgiving...If its any time before I feel like it leaves no time to proudly hang up that adorable turkey flag!!  :)

Happy Holidays To You!!

The Christmas holidays are my favorite time of the year also. A Christmas tree lit up at night is the most beautiful sight. Thats why I love to enjoy one for more than just four weeks after Thanksgiving. Why not enjoy it for eight weeks? If it's on the shelves at Wal-mart it must be the season. The Christmas tree goes hand in hand with Jesus's birth, presents, togetherness, good food and football. I say it's alright to have a tree up the week of Halloween and your lucky you are in a relationship with such a man who enjoys Christamas to the max!

I always put my tree up the Day after Halloween.  This year I was to busy to put up most of my halloween gear, and my daughter was disapointed.  Such alot of work for 1 weeks use, so she agreed that we could put the tree up early this year and decorate it with pumpkins.  So this year my tree was up before Halloween.

My wife was out of town when I did it and she was shocked.  The neighbors think I am nuts, but their kids want their tree up as well.  TIS THE SEASON!!

Anona, this summer I was shopping and one store had Christmas trees up!  It was actually very disturbing...

Anona, I agree. I just can't think about Christmas yet!  After Thanksgiving is plenty of time. I think the stores and ad companies are pushing this early push  to Christmas to sell merchandise.
