I confess, I’m a Sarah Richardson groupie. I know I’m not the only one who loves the impeccable taste of this perky, girl-next-door (or next-to-the-border) design style.  Star of Canada’s HGTV, sarah’s house, Sarah Richardson is, at the very least, a style trend-setter. As evident in last year’s (2010) edition of Canadian House & Home.

 

 

 

 

 

Could it be that Pantone consulted with Sarah to determine the 2012 Color of the Year? Hmmm...

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now if you're shaking your head and saying, Tangerine Tango for Christmas, No, I think not? Well, take a look at this and let me know if this will make a believer out of you...

Kim- I don't know Sarah Richardson from adam or eve.  I'm color blind and have my stager pick out my colors, blinds and light fixtures for my house.  I stumbled across your page here and it is awesome.  The choice of texture and colors are spot on.  I like your choices better than the pictures you shared from Sarah.  Perhaps you should have your work published in Pantone?  Merry Christmas and keep up the good work.

Kim - I'm also a Sarah Richardson groupie!  I've been fortunate to see her give several talks here in Vancouver at various Home & Design shows.  I also love Tommy - he often blurts our what we're all thinking!  I love Sarah's fearlessness when it comes to colour a choice of fabrics.  I still have last year's Canadian House & Home magazine, so will have to re-read the article.  Sarah is definitely a visionary.

Kim, thanks so much for sharing this post about Sarah. I also love her shows and her work and perhaps because she is a fabricaholic like myself.  Like Maureen, I wish that her shows aired more frequently here and at more convenient hours.  I was amazed to find out that this was her tree/house from 2010.  Clearly she's on the leading edge with design and I wouldn't be surprised if she was an insider with Pantone.

Yes you're right, it has the venetian plaster technique Kim, I was inspired by this sign I bought when I moved to Texas that said "Texas Torch" and the letters have the color I wanted in the kitchen (it is too white!). It was 10 years ago and I'm thinking I want a change but that would involve updating our whole kitchen at this point so for now... color & quirkiness reign!
