Judi's House - A House of Hope & Love
The death of a loved one can be an overwhelming experience for anyone. For a child, whose entire experience of the world is defined by their connection to a handful of people, the death of one of those people can be isolating, confusing, life-altering … devastating. While other family members are overcome with their own experience of grief and loss, children often become forgotten mourners.
Brian Griese’s mom Judi passed when he was just 12 years old. At the time, he felt he was the only 12 year old that lost his mom. In honor of Brian’s mom, Brian and his wife Brooke Griese saw a vision of Judi’s House and it was created. Today, those between the ages of 3 and 24 are encouraged to participate with support groups their age to work through the grieving process and for them to know they are not in this alone!
At Judi’s house there is an environment of acceptance and understanding where everyone can share their grief and yet grieve at their own pace. Those coming to Judi's House interact with others, work with counselors and have many volunteers assisting in activities.
Judi's House is located at 1741 Gaylord St., Denver, CO 80206
