5 Tips to Prepare for Job Interviews
5 Big Picture Thoughts...
1. You have to sell you. No one else will do it for you. Does this mean boast and
brag? Not at all. Remember: Itʼs not bragging if itʼs true.
2. Focus on jobs you really want. One resume wonʼt work for 100 different jobs. Pick
the ones you want to go after and customize your resume to speak to those positions.
3. Remember youʼre interviewing companies, too. By focusing on jobs you want,
youʼll be genuinely curious about the people you might work with. Ask more questions
and get a feel for the way the company communicates.
4. Donʼt sweat the little details. Focus on: A) How youʼll solve problems for the
company, B) Proving why youʼre the best candidate for the job, C) Finding a company
that also fits you.
5. Be persistent. Talent is great, but follow-through gets the job done. Be on top of
recruiters, take people to lunch who may be excellent contacts, line up people to vouch
for you. Do something to move yourself forward every day.
