December 20, 2011. A bit of work, and a bit of them-and-me-time
Working amidst the chaos and the din of a remodeling job can be quite chaotic. I couldn’t afford to be gone too long, but I still needed to get away.
Followed up on several things
- Status of pending short sale
- Status of request for price reduction on an REO property in escrow
- Status of revised offer
- Researched possible litigation issue on a condo complex regarding OSHA disapproving window washing rig (seriously?)
- Feedback on showings
A break. Took my car to the tire shop to attend to the troublesome tire. My dog and I walked home --- exercise for her and for me. Long walk, with a few pauses to check on emails via my iPhone.
Back to work. Emails. Phone Calls. Drafted blogs.
Consulted with handyman on strategy of moving furniture from one room to the next to allow him to install bamboo floors throughout the house. So happy with my choice of this renewable source. especially after reading an article on the Daily Beast about bamboo being “Stronger than steel”. The floor is done in my home office. I am so thrilled!
Time for friends. At dusk, Gary and went to the local Christmas Tree Lane on Thompson St here in Alameda to support our friend and other puppy raisers from Guide Dogs for the Blind walk through the festival of lights. This is the puppies’ first time in such a busy environment, and they behaved admirably.
Time for us. After walking with the puppy raisers, Gary and I decided to dine at our favorite and top-rated local restaurant: Zen’s Asian Fusion Tapas Bar. It was a quiet, relaxing moment. We didn’t realize how much we needed that!
