You can't win them all

I am a big fan of ESPN's "The Contender" and last night's final was not only a great show, it was one of the most incredible fights that I have seen in a loooong time.  A ten round fight that ended in TKO in the eighth after both fighter knocked each other down in the first round.  The fighters trained with each other in mind but also trained so they could adapt to unforeseeable situations, which is exactly what happened.  While not a great technical fighter, the persistence of underdog Sakio Bika of Africa won out over the defensive fighting stance of the heavy favorite, Jaidon Codrington.

So what can we apply from this to our real estate careers?

  • Proper and consistent training allows you to adapt and modify to any situation, making you a better asset to your client and to yourself.
  • No matter how well prepared you are, sometimes a deal turns into a slug-out for your client.
  • Getting knocked down is not the end..  Not getting back up is.
  • No matter how hard you try, you can't win them all.
  • Every loss is a lesson learned and makes you more prepared for next time.

Good luck and good training to you!

Adam, I have never really been a big boxing fan and it seems when I do want to watch a fight, the have a TKO in the first round and it is over. Thanks for the blog.
