ActiveRain Software Platform Upgraded Today

Services for Real Estate Pros with Suplari, Inc.

As many of you know, we have been working feverishly to update the software platform underlying ActiveRain (called Ruby on Rails) to a newer version (called Rails 2.3.14).  ActiveRain had not been updated for 5 years previously.

Today, we made the shift to Rails 2.3.14.   So now it should be much easier for us to make changes and develop new features on ActiveRain.  We should see greater stability as well.

The ActiveRain community should not see any changes to ActiveRain.  The goal was to update the underlying software platform and not make any visible changes to ActiveRain.

BUT, if you experience any issues with ActiveRain, please post the issue here in the comments.  We are having our software developers monitor the comments on this blog post.  As we come across issues, we will quickly dive in and try to fix them as they appear.

Thanks everyone!

I saw the notice "pay no attention to that work in progress behind the curtain" (or something like that) last night at around 1:30 am. Progress is good!

Spell check still isn't functioning at this time. Disregard my comment, it's working now.

Spellcheck is back up!  Looks like it was easier for them to fix than originally thought.

Kerrie:  If SpellCheck is the only problem we have... I guess I'm in pretty good shape.  Before Real Estate... I taught in Junior High School in Cleveland for nine years.  One of the subjects I taught was spelling and vocabulary.  :)

Quite some time ago, the auto fill stopped working for tags. I would begin to type words for tags, and it would give me an entire drop down list of any tags that were close to what I was typing, or had a major word in common, like real estate or Midtown Atlanta. It does not do that anymore.

If I don't know all my tags now, I can't tag my posts. So now it appears a massive project has been created for me to have to manually have a list of my tags with me at all times to tag my posts accordingly.

On one of my last posts I did, I started to type one common word, and it wanted to fill in with all the same words I had used for tags on a previous post, yet many of them did NOT apply to the new post.

Niki, on my outside blog there are several blog links that aren't working. When you click on the link at the top of the post, you get a message that says:

We're sorry, but something went wrong.

We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly.

I noticed it does slow down between the 3-6am CST hour.... "Submittng" for a long time. And it didn't matter on the Beta servers or not.

But today (12/26), so far no problems yet.

Like comment #72, any info on the autofill tags?  Several years of compiling tags and there's no way for me to memorize all of them - the autofill feature was great  - you would start typing a word and a list of suggestions would appear from your prior tags - but its not working any longer?  I did take a little time away from AR due to personal reasons but I'm back and realized the auto tags don't work.  :(

Is this something you are working on fixing?

Gina... they were working for me about thirty minutes ago.  But... I was using Internet Explorer at the time.  Right now I am using Firefox (I use both.)  Sometimes, with Active Rain, and with other things... what works on one... IE or Firefox... does not work on the other.  So, try switching browsers if you can... and see if that helps.

I may have found a new Ruby on Rails bug.

My recent post  shows that I have 8 reblogs... but only two of them are accessible.  A bug?
