"Each Schat’s Bakery is independently owned and operated by individual members of the Schat Family. We are committed to honoring five generations of Dutch bakers.
David Schat, the owner of David Schat’s Bakery Café in El Segundo, California, was born and raised in Bishop, California in the beautiful Owens Valley. Born into a family of Dutch master bakers, some of his happiest childhood memories are of spending time in his family's bakeries. David's passion for baking began when he was 12 years old under the apprenticeship of his Grandfather, Father, and Uncles. The opening of David Schat’s Bakery Café is the realization of a lifelong dream."
