The Holidays Are A Good Time To Sell Your Home

Despite what most people think, the holidays area great time to sell your home. After all,  buyers shop for homes all year round, including the holiday season. In fact, sellers who put their homes on the market during the holiday season  may have an advantage because there are fewer houses on the market so there's less competition. Also, many home buyers have extra time off during the holiday season so they have more time to look for their new home.

Another great thing is that buyers looking for homes during the holidays are usually highly motivated to buy before the end of the year so they can get extra itemized income-tax deductions. And on the opposite end of that thinking are the buyers that are expecting a tax refund in January so they buy in December.

If you need to sell your home now, go ahead.. It is a great time to sell! And if you need to sell in the Upstate of South Carolina, call us, we would love to be your Realtors!

Not only are there fewer homes on the market, but some holiday decorating brings more light to rooms making the home look more vibrant.

Shelia, these are great points!  I have a transaction closing next week so that the new owners can take advantage of the Texas Homestead Exemption.

Well done Sheila, you've convinced me to sell my house. Not yet, but you bring up some good points in why to sell in December.

You are right - homes still sell in the winter season, there may be less showings, but there will be more serious buyers!
