Christmas Eve Eve Day ... from Ocean City, New Jersey
Well, the barrier island is getting a few more holiday visitors coming down to the Jersey Shore for Christmas. We often get some long weekend rentals during this period of time, relatives returning for the visits with parents and friends, and the second home owners who decide to celebrate the holidays here on the island. Even with all of that, it is not really crowded in terms like the summer rental season.
Bridge work continues which does cause some backups at both end of Route #52 from Ocean City to Somers Point and back again. But overall, it is nice to walk along Asbury Avenue saying hello to "the regulars" that you have learned to know who live here all year round. I have a few stops to make on the mainland ... last grocery picks for my wife as she begins the holiday cooking. We will have a gang of 9 for an afternoon Christmas Dinner ... 5 friends that we invited from the island and 2 more who are our close friends and neighbors from Elizabethtown (PA) who have decided to accept our invitation to visit here for Christmas.
We may take a little time off tonight for a Christmas Eve Eve Day early dinner out plus a movie. It seems this is our only time of the year that we go out to see first run films. We'll do that again on New Year's Eve with another couple who has gone with us before.
I will return my thoughts to real estate in the coming week working on my 2012 goal setting plans as well as a house inspection for a closing scheduled in mid-January, 2012. Real estate is always on the back of my mind even when I take a day off.
Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2012 ... and a great real estate year too!!! Thinking of all of you who take the time to read, or even glance at, my blog postings. dap
